Dr. T. Narayana Rao is a renowned laparoscopic surgeon and academician with impressive qualifications and accomplishments. He currently serves as a Professor of Surgery at Andhra Medical College and is the chief surgeon at King George Hospital, specializing in bariatric surgery. Dr. Rao is widely recognized as a pioneer of laparoscopic surgery in Andhra Pradesh and has been instrumental in popularizing the technique in the region. In addition to his clinical practice, he is also the founder of the Visakha Obesity Surgery Center. He is a member of the Governing Council and Honorary Joint Secretary of the Association of Surgeons of India.

Dr. Rao’s journey in the field of surgery began in 1990 as a Civil Assistant Surgeon under Andhra Pradesh Health Services. Over the years, he has risen through the ranks to become a Professor of Surgery, earning a reputation as a skilled and compassionate surgeon. He has received training at some of the world’s most prestigious institutions and has organized health camps in remote areas, treating numerous poor patients and performing several unique surgeries. Dr. Rao’s contributions to the field of surgery have been widely recognized, and he has presented papers at national and international conferences, published papers in various journals, and organized workshops and conferences.
